Stay On Trend With Tile

March 30, 2017

Tile trends come and go. If you've spent any time at all watching HGTV, you've no doubt heard about subway tile, tile backsplashes, and more. Today, we're sharing with you some of the most popular trends in tile for bathrooms, kitchens, and more.

Wood-Look

You may be surprised to hear that wood-look tile is the biggest seller in tile - at the moment. Newer technology has given it a more authentic look, and it holds up to damage better than real hardwood. Wood is a great neutral - it goes with everything and helps bring the style of your home together.

Metal

Tile with metal looks and finishes are growing in popularity each year. There's a wide variety of colors and shades and finishes range from matte to polished looks. Metal-look tile brings a modern, industrial-inspired look to your decor.

Stone

Stone is always a strong choice - and it's popularity isn't fading anytime soon. Marble tiles are a strong pick, and manufacturers are offering more color options each year. Currently, grey, beige, brown and black marbles are hot picks. Trend forecasters anticipate that both monochromatic stones and rough, natural looking stones are going to be seen more often in the coming year.

Mixing and Matching

Mixing and matching is getting to be as popular in tile as it is in apparel. Don't feel limited when it comes to designing your kitchen or bathroom tile. Mix subway tiles with large marble squares for a dynamic look. This trend is for the more adventurous, but as time goes on, you'll start to see more of it.

Variety In Shapes

From fish scales to hexagons and everything in between, decorators are giving their tiled rooms lots of variety when it comes to shape. Adding some variety with geometric shapes can give your room a bold new look.
