Making the Most of Closet Space
A clean and well organized closet can make or break your morning mood. No one wants to start the day surrounded by clutter. But getting there may not be as hard as you think. Here are four ways to make the most out of the space you have, no renovation required.
This may seem like an obvious choice, but the best way to start your organization project is to clear out what you don't need. Take a look at your wardrobe. Do you really wear everything you own, or are you and finding yourself keeping certain item s due to emotional attachment or diet aspirations? Keep what you like, but if items haven't been worn in over a year, it might be time to free up that closet space.
To maximize space, hang two garment rods, one above eye level (for longer items) and one at waist level (shorter garments or as a shelf for folded items) to maximize space and double the amount of clothing you can hang.
Put Little Things In Their Place
Use a shallow bowl or decorative dish for quick deposits of loose change, receipts, and other small items that accumulate in purses and pockets throughout the day. You'll be grateful to have a central locations for these easy-to-lose items, and by turning the drop spot into a decorative space, you'll be giving the area visual appeal, as well.
Avoid messy shelves and floors by limiting the number of items you'll stack to fold. This way, as you remove a sweater from the bottom of a pile, you won't worry about a toppling stack. Another good tip is to spend just a minute or two before bedtime folding any clothes or rehanging items that may have gotten shuffled during your morning routine.
