Alamo Heights -
San Antonio Magazine stated, "Wide streets conceal the roots of old trees and grand homes - young newcomers and generations-long residents love the area for its close community and clusters of high-end shops, museums, a highly ranked school system, decadent bakeries and upscale restaurants." Alamo Heights' location is desirable with it being in close proximity to The Quarry, The Pearl Brewery and downtown.
The McNay Art Museum
According to San Antonio Magazine, new builds still are in demand north of Loop 1604, but the hassle of daily traffic en route to work and home have made more centrally located neighborhoods like Deerfield an increasingly popular alternative. The added convenience of being near major roadways has people moving here.
Boerne is knows for that small town feel where it's reseidents are involved in their community supporting local restaurants and businesses. San Antonio Magazine says, this neighborhood is no longer a secret among those who yearn to ride their bikes to jobs downtown - the increased demand means that the neighborhood continues to evolve and progress quickly. Businesses like Dignowity Meats and the Alamo Beer Company brewery next to the Hays Street Bridge provide the amenities and attractions that residents are looking for.
Five miles north of Loop 1604, this neighborhood is on the border of San Antonio and the Hill Country. According to San Antonio Magazine, it has a rural feel, but civilization is close by. Homeowners appreciate the non-annexation agreement Timberwood Park has for tax savings (no city taxes). Regardless of other areas San Antonio will choose to annex in the near future, Timberwood Park will not be part of it.
Stone Oak is a more suburban feel with some of San Antonio's best public schools. Conveniences galore also make Stone Oak a popular place to live. Additionally, it is a great location north of 1604 with quick access to 281. You're 15 minutes from The Quarry, La Canterra, and the JW Marriott to name a few.
The Club at Sonterra
"This glitzy, gated neighborhood is coveted for its safety, stately homes, premier golf course, and balance of both city and country life," says San Antonio Magazine. The city recognizes the growth along I-10 and is creating highway improvements to accomodate for the growth. Recently added HEB, Starbucks, Silo and soon to come La Gloria are bringing the fun to the community.
According to San Antonio Magazine, research released this year from the state demographer, pegs Comal County—and its county seat of New Braunfels—among the fastest growing in the state doubling it's population since the early 1990's. “You think of New Braunfels as a great place to visit,” says Laura Hallam, who moved there in 2012 and is now an associate broker with Keller Williams Heritage. “Living here has been so much better.” Hallam says the recently opened 62-acre Fischer Park, which includes two miles of trails, a splash pad and an outdoor amphitheater, is so nice the city should charge admission.

"Initially formed in 1988 to preserve the region from the encroaching big city, Fair Oaks Ranch has maintained its country feel while still providing residents easy access to The Rim, La Cantera, UTSA and major employers like NuStar Energy and Valero," says San Antonio Magazine. “You can have an acreage and views and still be 10 minutes from shopping and everything that you need,” said Tiffany Stevens, agent of Phyllis Browning. Families with children apprecite this neighborhood is within the highly-rated Boerne school district.
